Cross-channel API

Cross-Channel API Without Compromises

The Kony API is an abstraction layer that hides the complexity of the underlying platforms. Kony continually adds to the API as device capabilities evolve.

Utilities

SYNC API: Provide enterprise-grade sync services for business applications.

CRYPTOGRAPHY API: Complete key management, encryption & decryption for both symmetric and PKI cryptography options.

STREAMING API: Register and deregister applications for streaming services.

NETWORK API: Invoke and manage synchronous and asynchronous network calls.

EVENT API: Allow complete local app timeout controls at the form level for additional security.

INTERNATIONALIZATION API: Control all locale functionality through detailed locale and resource bundle management.

MATH, STRING, and TABLE LIBRARY: Complete developer access to manipulation of math, string and table libraries.

Device Features

DATA STORE API: Allows developers to save, read and delete locally stored data for native apps, HTML5 and legacy mobile web browsers.

PUSH API: Developers can programmatically define actions to be executed on receiving a push notification, as well as register and deregister from each vendor's service.

SYSTEM LEVEL API: Permits access to OS namespace APIs for the control of the elements such as time, date, currency and device attributes such as user agent, memory and others.

DEVICE FEATURE API: Access device features such as sending a text message, making a call, getting a location, adding/editing/deleting contact and calendar details, together with controlling media and maps functionality. Access device hardware such as the camera, radio, accelerometer, magnetometer, barometer, GPS unit and more.

SOCIAL MEDIA API: Access all social media sites and functionality through the Facebook  and Open Social 2.0 APIs.

User Interface

DATA VISUALIZATION API: Allows developers to incorporate rich and complex data visualization with stunning interactivity easily into applications.

THEMES API: The Themes API allows developers to define, change and apply new or existing themes for a user dynamically on a  session or event basis.

BADGE API: For iOS, a badge is an icon which can display any information for an app, a widget, an app menu icon or an app menu.

WINDOW LIBRARY: Control the display properties of a window displayed when an element is loading, and show alerts for warnings or success states.

INLINE BROWSER API: Developers can control the browslet's navigational state (back & forward) and refresh it as required.

GESTURE API: For mobile devices with touch support, developers can set or remove a gesture recognizer for specific widgets, and control responses from actions such as tap, double-tap and swipe.

WIDGETS: Allows various useful programmatic direction to handle widget states such as forms, skins, calendars, image conversions, etc.

Widget Library

Container Widgets

These are widgets which hold other widgets inside of them. They give developers control over design layouts and application behaviors. Judicious mixtures of these widgets allows for unlimited design flexibility.

Basic Widgets

These are widgets which behave independently from the container widgets in which they are placed.

Advanced Widgets

More complex widgets with a number of attributes and sophisticated behaviors are termed ‘Advanced widgets’.
